Perhaps one of the most popular tourist destinations and property hot spots in the world, Barbados is yet another jewel in the Caribbean Crown. Exquisite beaches, sun kissed bays and golden sunshine, makes this island one of the top 20 places to visit before you die. Barbados has a land area of about 166 square miles and is primarily low-lying, with some higher regions in the island's interior Barbados is thought to be of non-volcanic origin and is predominantly composed of limestone-coral.

The earliest inhabitants of Barbados were Amerindian nomads. According to accounts by descendants of the original Arawak tribes on other local islands, the original name for Barbados was Ichirouganaim.
