Speightstown Real Estate

Speightstown is nestled on the famed West Coast of Barbados in the Parish of St Peter north of Gibbes Beach and Mullins Beach.

Having been settled by the British in 1630, Speightstown developed into one of the Barbados’s most important towns and was a bustling port integral to the trade in tobacco, cotton and then sugar.

Today, Speightstown has a rather quaint feel. It is considered Barbados’s second largest town and offers amenities and attractions ranging from an art gallery and historical museum to banks, shops, restaurants, bars and pubs.

Its colonial past has bequeathed a legacy of historical buildings and an archaeological treasure trove which is the subject of ongoing research.

The coast is fringed by some beautiful beaches such as Heywoods Beach which, in many cases, are less busy than others on the West Coast and the Speightstown Jetty where fishermen bring in their catch.

Speightstown also offers some of the most luxurious real estate for sale in Barbados.

Some condominium resort projects have been developed by the beach offering beautiful property for sale of a very high calibre.
