The hotel was originally owned and operated by Emmeline McConney after the opening of a new railway line in 1883 which made travel to Barbados’s East Coast much easier.

Ownership of the hotel has since changed hands several times but it remains family-owned and operated.

The property was sensitively updated and refurbished in 2009 in an elegant nautical meets classic Caribbean style with design touches such as rich wooden flooring, white shutters and historic photographs on the walls.

The hotel includes 8 spacious guest suites in the main building, each of which offers idyllic views of the ocean and fishing boats bobbing on the water.
