Anguilla

Anguilla is located in the Leeward Islands and is truly an island paradise. Breathtaking views, with sandy beaches and a truly relaxed Caribbean atmosphere seduce the senses. The main island of Anguilla itself is approximately 16 miles long by 3 miles at its widest point, together with a number of much smaller islands and cays with no permanent population. The island's capital is called The Valley.

Anguilla was colonised by English settlers from Saint Kitts, beginning in 1650. The island was administered by Great Britain until the early 19th century, when – against the wishes of the inhabitants – it was incorporated into a single British dependency along with Saint Kitts and Nevis.

Its main industries are tourism and fishing. Anguilla's currency is the East Caribbean dollar however the US dollar is also widely accepted. Anguilla has now become one of the Hot Spots of the Caribbean and although property prices are lower than many of the more popular Caribbean destinations the demand for property has increased over the last 3 years.
