During the first half of this year tourism to Belize has experienced significant growth.
Tourism Arrivals Up 17.1% in First 6 Months of 2018
Tourism arrivals to the Central American destination surged by 17.1% during the first 6 months of 2018 when compared to the same period in 2017, according to the latest figures released by the Belize Tourism Board.
Belize, which is bordered to the east by the Caribbean Sea, welcomed 269,502 stayover tourist arrivals during this 6 month period.
The 17.1% increase represents one of the fastest tourism growth rates in the Caribbean region and follows 11% growth in Belize tourism arrivals in 2017.
“A Growing, Viable and a Must-Visit Destination”
According to the Tourism Board, “Another exceptional increase in tourism arrivals is a reaffirmation of significant gains for our country that continues to be a growing, viable and a must-visit destination in Central America and the Caribbean.”
Belize: “One of the Most Exciting Options for International Property Buyers”
The growth in tourism arrivals is also a very positive indicator for the market for real estate in Belize, which is rapidly emerging as one of the most exciting options for international property buyers.
Boosted by the increased international profile of Belize, new developments with residential components – particularly in Ambergris Caye – have been tipped as some of the hottest new resorts in the Caribbean.
