The Cayman Islands has welcomed a record 209,143 visitors in 2018 while demand for real estate is surging.

Tourism in the Cayman Islands is enjoying rapid growth this year.

The number of visitor arrivals has surged by 16.51% during the first 5 months of 2018 compared to the same period in the previous year.

Cruise numbers have also registered a huge increase.

Record 209,143 Stay-Over Visitors

In total a record 209,143 stay-over visitors were welcomed during the period to the trio of islands which comprise Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman.

In May, for example, 35,916 visitors flew into the Cayman Islands, which is a 22.4% increase on May 2017 and the best May on record.

Arrivals from the USA are up 26.5%, while arrials from Canada are up 5.99%.

Arrivals from Latin America and Europe have also shown a significant increase and the Tourism Minister expects the trend to continue throughout the remainder of the year and beyond.

Demand for Real Estate Has Also Surged

As tourism has increased, demand for real estate in the Cayman Islands has also surged, in particular Seven Mile Beach real estate.
