1. How would you recommend spending a relaxing first day in St Lucia?

When you get to St Lucia, enjoy a nice meal and if you are at our property, Capella Marigot Bay, why not take a walk around the Capella Marina boardwalk and enjoy the fresh, warm breeze.

At Capella, our team of personal assistants will call you 2-4 weeks before you arrive to make sure that everything from airport transportation to what you would like stocked in your kitchen is pre-arranged according to your personal preferences so you can relax trouble-free by the pools which overlook beautiful Marigot Bay and maybe even have a jetlag massage treatment at the Auriga Spa.

2. How about a quiet first evening to re-charge after a long flight?

Enjoy dinner at our dockside Rum Cave. It is casual, relaxed and friendly, but refined at the same time. You can enjoy a selection of small dishes that can be shared and, as St Lucia is home to rum, a refreshing rum cocktail is a must.

3. Where are your personal, favourite places to explore in St Lucia?

Some of my favourite places in Saint Lucia, and there are many, include the majestic Pitons mountain tops, which have become an icon of St Lucia, the Sulphur Springs and the Rainforest. Our personal assistants know beautiful spots which are off the beaten track and can connect you with guides who can immerse you in authentic local experiences and educate you on the history of this vibrant, fascinating island.

In addition at Capella, we have a diverse array of exciting activities – everything can be custom-tailored to your needs. Your personal assistant at Capella can create a tailored experience just for you or your family, whether you would like to blend your own bottle of spiced rum, explore nature trails, learn about the flora and fauna on the island or learn to pilot a yacht.

4. How easy is it to travel around?

At Capella, we have access to luxury vehicles with professional drivers that are handpicked for their friendliness and knowledge of the island. But, personally, my preferred way to get around St Lucia would be to charter a beautiful sailing or motor yacht. The team at the Capella Marina can create a memorable experience for you and your family aboard a boat or yacht depending on your needs and also prepare meals for you – from casual to gourmet.

5. How about a day at sea?

Again, the possibilities are endless. A personal favourite of mine is to charter a fishing yacht and spend a half day deep sea fishing, but a sunset sail on a catamaran is also hard to beat especially for couples – it is incredibly romantic.

6. Any dining recommendations for an unforgettable meal in St Lucia?

At Capella, make sure to try our Grill, for the freshest seafood, steaks cooked to perfection on a wood burning stove or excellent cuts of meat slow-roasted in the rotisserie. The culinary team at Capella Marigot Bay can custom create dishes as well in accordance with your preferences.

In Marigot Bay itself, there are also a range of wonderful dining options: Chateau Mygo’s dockside restaurant, Rainforest Hideaway, Doolittles Restaurant as well as the Indian restaurant Masala Bay right in the Marina Village itself are great dining options to experience.

7. Where are the best places to get a little something to take home and what would be your suggestions for gifts?

Capella’s Marina Village has a diverse selection ranging from jewellery and fashion to souvenirs and local arts and crafts. I personally can highly recommend Michelle Elliot’s pottery. She has a shop in the Village as well as at Pink Plantation House in Castries.
