Overview – Granada Real Estate

The department of Granada is located to the south of Managua and Masaya, west of Carazo and northeast of Rivas (and San Juan del Sur).

The focal point of the department of Granada is the city of the same name – a historical city which lies on the shores of Lake Nicaragua and is the sixth largest city in this Central American country.

Granada is famed for its Spanish and Moorish style colonial architecture which has made it one of the most popular tourist destinations in Nicaragua.

Prior to 2007 there was a surge in interest in Granada real estate among foreign property buyers. Investors snapped up many of the city’s beautiful historical homes. Property prices have since come down somewhat. Now more affordable, there are some spectacular properties for sale in the city.
